Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE announced on Friday their submission of data to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) supporting the vaccination of children between the ages of five and twelve with the Comirnaty vaccine.

The data comes from a Phase 2/3 study that involved children from six months to under twelve years of age and demonstrated a strong immune response, as well as that the vaccine was "well tolerated in the younger age group."

The same data has also been submitted to the American Food and Drug Administration.
