South Korea's antitrust regulator, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC), said on Sunday it fined Nissan Korea 173 million won ($146,700) for providing false information about gas emissions on its diesel vehicles.

The KFTC noted that it found the carmaker's parent company Nissan Motor, as well as Porsche and its South Korean unit Porsche Korea, also used illegal software to cheat emissions tests and ordered them to take steps to correct the information they had stated.
