easyJet's full year revenue drops 52% YoY to £1.46B

easyJet plc unveiled on Tuesday that its revenue for the full fiscal year stood at £1.46 billion, decreasing 52% when compared to the year prior. Reported loss before tax dropped 18% year-over-year to land at £1.04 billion.

The number of total passengers over the past year amounted to 20.4 million, constituting a per annum loss of 57.5%. The low-cost carrier reported that its capacity fell from 55.1 million in 2020 to 28.2 million in 2021 for a yearly loss of 48.9%.

Johan Lundgren, easyJet CEO, commented on the results: "Having delivered FY’21 ahead of consensus, we have seen an encouraging start to this year with strong demand returning for peak winter holiday periods, coupled with increasing summer demand with Q422 capacity expected to be close to FY’19 levels."
