Ford Motor Company is postponing its plan to have its salaried employees combine going to offices and working remotely until March amid the emergence of the new strain of COVID-19, Omicron, CNBC reported on Monday, citing an email the company sent to its staff.

"The state of COVID-19 virus remains fluid, and despite the success of our ongoing safety protocols and increased vaccination rates, we are shifting the start date of the hybrid work model to March," the email read. The majority of those employed in manufacturing already returned to onsite working.

Earlier this month, Ford reportedly decided to require its staff to be inoculated against COVID-19 by December.
