Qantas aims to order 158 Airbus jets worth $24.8B - report

Qantas Airways Limited will order up to 158 aircraft made by Airbus SE, Australian daily newspaper The West Australian reported on Sunday.

Qantas reportedly decided to order 52 airplanes initially, including 12 A350-1000 jets, 20 A321XLR aircraft and 20 A220 planes, with options to acquire another 106 aircraft from the European manufacturer.

The value of the entire order was supposed to be US$24.8 billion, but Australia's flag carrier reached a deal on a discounted price, according to the report.
