EasyJet orders 56 Airbus aircraft

Tuesday, 21. June 2022 08:52

EasyJet plc announced on Tuesday it ordered 56 A320neo aircraft from Airbus SAS and that the delivery will take place between fiscal years 2026 and 2029.

The airline proposed to convert the order of 18 A320neo jets for delivery between fiscal years 2024 and 2027 to 18 A321neo aircraft. The new order is valued at $6.5 billion, using 2018 average prices for Airbus aircraft, but EasyJet specified that the final price "will be very substantially lower" due to the 2013 agreement between the companies.

EasyJet CEO Johan Lundgren said that the new order means the airline is continuing the "fleet refresh, as the older A319s and A320s leave the airline and new A320 and A321 neo aircraft enter, providing benefits to easyJet."
