The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating former United States President Donald Trump for a possible violation of the Espionage Act, according to an obtained search warrant by Politico on Friday.

Following the federal law enforcement agency's search at Trump's Florida residence earlier this week, the FBI seized multiple sets of top-secret documents from his Mar-a-Lago resort home, according to reports by the US media, which allegedly included information about the President of France. The warrant, obtained by the media, claims that the federal government is looking into Trump for destroying records, hindering an investigation, and breaching the Espionage Act.

Previously, the country's Attorney General Merrick Garland said that the Department of Justice (DoJ) has made an appeal to the judge to publicly release the search warrant used by the (FBI) to search Trump's residence. The US 45th president supported unsealing the court order to the public, denying that the search was related to documents on nuclear weapons.
