Russia: Ukraine's actions terrorist, nuclear blackmail

Friday, 07. October 2022 12:16

The Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused on Friday Ukraine of conducting terrorist actions by allegedly shelling the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and engaging in "nuclear blackmail."

Speaking to Channel One, Zakharova said Ukraine conducts those attacks "intentionally," a sign of its "not just irresponsible, but extremist behavior."

Zakharova's comments came two days after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered via a decree transferring control over the ZNPP to his country's authorities. Meanwhile, the Kremlin claimed that Ukraine's head of state Volodymyr Zelensky called for a "preventive nuclear strike" against Russia, which in its words, "essentially means a call for the start of a world war."
