Europe opens lower ahead of US inflation report

European stock indexes opened lower on Thursday as markets braced for the September inflation report in the United States. In Germany, inflation was confirmed at 10% for September, gaining 1.9% on a monthly basis.

The FTSE 100 fell by 0.25% at 9:00 am CET, as Taylor Wimpey PLC plunged 5.75%. The DAX lost 0.49% at the same time, with Infineon Tech AG dropping 1.43%. The CAC 40 declined by 0.25%, led by Credit Agricole SA, which was down by 0.91%.

The euro traded 0.15% lower against the dollar, going for 0.96894 at 9:02 am CET, while the pound lost 0.33% compared to the dollar and sold for 1.10636 at the same time.
