GM asks to test driverless shuttle in California - report

General Motors Co.'s Cruise LLC filed a request in California to test its Origin driverless shuttle, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. The vehicle, which has no manual steering controls, is meant to be used for ride-hailing.

According to the report, Cruise asked to test Origin on the streets of San Francisco, but the request has not yet been approved. Cruise has already tested other autonomous vehicles in California, starting in 2020.
