Activision Blizzard Inc. will pay $35 million to settle claims made by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) about the company violating whistleblower-protection rules and hints of workplace misconduct.

"As the order recognizes, we have enhanced our disclosure processes with regard to workplace reporting and updated our separation contract language. We did so as part of our continuing commitment to operational excellence and transparency," a company spokesperson said on Friday.

The SEC noted in the settlement order that Activision's systems weren't designed to collect information about workplace misconduct, therefore the management wasn't informed about harassment-related incidents. The investigation was settled without the gaming giant explicitly denying or admitting the allegations.
