Intel Q1 revenue at $19.7B, down by 1%

Intel Corporation reported a net revenue of $19.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021 on Thursday, decreasing by 1% in comparison to the first quarter of last year.

GAAP earnings per share (EPS) were $0.82, sliding 37% year on year. The reported net income was also down, dropping 41% per annum to $3.4 billion.

Intel Chief Executive Officer Pat Gelsinger stated: "Intel delivered strong first-quarter results driven by exceptional demand for our leadership products and outstanding execution by our team. This is a pivotal year for Intel. We are setting our strategic foundation and investing to accelerate our trajectory and capitalize on the explosive growth in semiconductors that power our increasingly digital world."

Intel shares were down 2.19% in after-hours trading despite revenue exceeding the guidance from January.
