BNP Paribas' Q2 net income up 26.6% to €2.9B

BNP Paribas S.A. reported on Friday that its net profit in the second quarter of 2021 jumped 26.6% when compared to the same period last year to €2.91 billion.

Meanwhile, the bank group's revenue for this trimester increased 0.9% year-over-year climbing to €11.78 billion, while its operating income reached €3.79 billion, for a yearly gain of 31.2%. However, BNP Paribas' Corporate and Institutional Banking reported an annual decline of 9.9% falling to €3.71 billion.

BNP Paribas' Chief Executive Officer Jean-Laurent Bonnafé noted of the results: "On the strength of its diversified and integrated model and its robust financial structure, BNP Paribas continues to expand its activities at the service of its clients and the economy. BNP Paribas’ results are solid and reflect the rebound in activity and our growth potential."
