E.ON sales jump 60% to €29.5B in Q1

E.ON said on Wednesday that its sales in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to €29.5 billion, surging 60% compared to the same period a year earlier.

Net income fell 5% year on year to €969 million, while earnings per share dropped 16% to €0.26. Adjusted EBITDA slid 15% to €2.1 billion and adjusted EBIT decreased 20% to €1.2 billion.

"Despite the challenges of the first quarter, we’re on course to achieve our earnings targets for the 2022 financial year," CEO Marc Spieker stated.
