DAX reaches new all-time high as DT surges

European stock markets jumped on Tuesday with the DAX in Frankfurt soaring over 1% to hit a fresh all-time high.

On the trade front, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen expressed readiness to discuss all trade models with London, claiming that the European Union enters the negotiation with "the highest ambition." Meanwhile, German Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union underlined that it won't exclude Huawei from the implementation of Germany's 5G network.

The DAX traded 1.10% higher at 4:01 pm CET as Deutsche Telekom surged over 4%, following approval of the merger between T-Mobile US and Sprint given by a United States court. The FTSE 100 climber 0.86% at 4:04 pm CET while the CAC 40 in Paris added 0.66% at the same time.

The euro rose modestly against the greenback, growing 0.07% to go for 1.09203 at 4:05 pm CET.
