Dow loses over 200 pts in volatile session

Indices in the United States turned negative again during volatile trading on Tuesday, after New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo added uncertainty by saying that "nobody knows" when the state of emergency over coronavirus pandemic will end.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index was 173 points lower at 12:46 pm ET, moments after trading over 200 points lower. Procter & Gamble was the worst performer.

The Nasdaq 100 slid 0.22% one minute later, as Dollar Tree led losses.

The S&P 500 declined .68% at 12:49 pm ET, pulled by Ventas, a real estate investment fund focused on health care facilities.

The euro traded 0.69% lower against the dollar at 12:51 pm ET, going for $1.09727.
