Western Digital Corp, an American data storage company, announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) and Qumulo to architect and store COVID-19 data, as well as related vaccine projections in order to give "decision-makers the most robust information possible."

"Teaming up with Qumulo from the beginning and utilizing Western Digital drives has enabled us to distill hundreds of millions of data points into a single visualization which allows policymakers to easily view results and communicate them with their teams," said Serkan Yalcin, director of IT Infrastructure at IHME.

In this project, Qumulo provides file data systems using Western Digital products, which enables an extreme performance and faster data analysis. IHME further shares the retrieved information with hospitals, state governments and some foreign countries.
