Self-driving company Cruise, which is backed by General Motors Co. and Honda Motor Company Ltd., said on Monday that it acquired competitor Voyage.

While exact terms of the agreement were not disclosed, "key members" of Voyage are expected to join Cruise, with CEO Oliver Cameron will take on a new role as vice president of product.

"Voyage's experience and development of Commander (our self-driving AI), Shield (our collision mitigation system), and Telessist (our novel remote assistance solution) will only supercharge Cruise’s goal of superhuman driving performance," Cameron said in the press release.
