Chinese anti-monopoly watchdog, State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), unveiled on Monday that it has launched an investigation into the dealings of Meituan, the country's largest food delivery platform.

The probe is still in its early stages, the statement read, adding that the agency will look into multiple food behemoth's alleged misdoings, while the company underlined its readiness to cooperate with the authorities and comply with regulations.

The SAMR previously probed Alibaba Group Holding Limited and its affiliate Ant Group over alleged monopolistic policies.
