Europe opens in green after Germany's GDP data

Major stock indexes in Europe started Tuesday's trading session higher with the focus on today's batch of economic data. Destatis reported that the German gross domestic product fell 1.8% in the first quarter. In business, several airline companies said they will suspend flights over Belarus airspace after the forced grounding of Ryanair DAC's plane.

The FTSE 100 in London gained 0.07% at the opening bell. Renishaw plc advanced 2.04%. Germany's DAX increased 0.73%, as Deutsche Wohnen SE surged 16.16%. In Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.13%. STMicroelectronics climbed 0.75%.

The euro and the pound traded 0.26% and 0.30% higher against the dollar at 8:59 am CET, changing hands for $1.22472 and $1.41992 respectively.
