Campaign starts to keep Trump blocked from FB

A campaign is starting on Friday urging Facebook Inc. not to unblock the account of former United States President Donald Trump. First reported by Axios, the campaign is led by nonprofit organizations Accountable Tech and Media Matters for America, which have so far spent $200,000 on it and are "prepared to spend more on future campaigns depending on what Facebook does."

Trump was banned from the social network in January in light of his alleged incitement of the Capitol riot. Facebook's Oversight Board upheld the decision in May but asked the company to review it within six months. Meanwhile, the tech giant reportedly decided to end its policy that allowed more lenience to national leaders compared to other users.
