Europe closes lower on investor confidence data

Major stock markets in Europe closed with losses on Monday as Sentix data showed that Eurozone investor confidence has plummeted. Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak admitted that the United Kingdom's recovery from the pandemic "comes with a cost."

The FTSE 100 decreased by 0.23% at the end of the session with BT Group dropping 4.78%, the DAX lost 0.79% with Delivery Hero tumbling 3.93% and the CAC 40 slid 0.61% with STMicroelectronics losing 3.27%.

The euro grew 0.22% against the greenback at 5:28 pm CET, changing hands for 1.16190. At the same time, the pound rose 0.46% to sell for 1.36068 dollars.
