Europe opens in green ahead of major data

Major European stock markets kicked off Tuesday's session deep into the positive territory as investors awaited major economic data set for release later during the day.

Ahead of the opening bell, Halifax reported that the average price of British houses reached a new record high at £272,992 last month, while Destatis said Germany's industrial production expanded by more-than-expected 2.8% during October.

The DAX surged by 1.11% or 170 points at the open, with Delivery Hero SE advancing 3.46%. The FTSE 100 gained 0.74%, as Ferguson plc soared 4.20%. The CAC 40 rose 1.03%. The euro stood unchanged against the dollar at 1.12870, while the pound grew 0.20% to sell for $1.32826 at 9:01 am CET.
