Europe closes higher after EU industrial data

Major stock market indexes in Europe closed higher on Friday after the newest report on industrial production in the Eurozone showed both an annual and monthly rise. Meanwhile, concerning the energy crisis that has hit the Old Continent since Russia's military operation in Ukraine, the United Kingdom stated it is considering implementing aid for industries affected the most. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimated Germany is close to achieving its goal when it comes to saving on gas.

The DAX closed 0.79% or 107 points higher as Bayer AG surged by 4.78%. The FTSE 100 increased by 0.49%, with Flutter Entertainment PLC skyrocketing by 14.10%. The CAC 40 went up by 0.25% as BNP Paribas SA advanced by 2.05%.

The euro lost 0.69% to the euro at 5:27 pm CET to sell for $1.02507. A minute later, the pound sterling declined by 0.66% against the greenback to go for $1.21230.
