Tuesday, 04. October 2022 17:50

Nord Stream 2 AG will start inspecting the damage to its pipeline in the Baltic Sea, following the conclusion of the on-site police investigation and the lifting of the cordon, the gas pipeline operator told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

According to the operator, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Danish Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) is currently under investigation by the Copenhagen police, while the Swedish coast guard has sealed off the leak's location in the Swedish EEZ, as reported leaks are believed to be "deliberate acts" by the authorities.

Earlier today, Danish police revealed they had received reports of unauthorized drone flights near gas fields in the North Sea, following gas leaks that occurred on the pipeline on September 26.
