Kudlow: US recovery not dependent on relief bill

Thursday, 29. October 2020 15:08

United States national economic advisor Larry Kudlow said on Thursday that the US economic recovery does not depend on passing the coronavirus relief bill, which is still being negotiated by Democratic lawmakers and the White House. He also predicted that the US should "regain all economic output" lost during the COVID-19 crisis by early spring 2021.

Kudlow stated that targeted economic relief "could have helped a lot and it's not going to happen," adding that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "is not going to compromise" on certain issues in the relief bill. Finally, he said the administration does not believe state lockdowns are necessary to fight the rising number of coronavirus cases.
