Aramco terminal attacked by Houthis - Riyadh

Monday, 23. November 2020 20:01

An official spokesman for Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy confirmed on Monday that a Saudi Aramco distribution terminal located near the city of Jeddah has been the target of a "terrorist attack by a projectile." Speaking to the government-controlled Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the official pointed out that the explosion resulted in a fire that was extinguished and that the assault left no casualties.

Saudi Aramco's fuel supplies were not affected, the spokesman noted, adding that Riyadh "condemns this cowardly attack" and that similar actions "are aimed at the security and stability of energy supplies to the world, as well as the global economy."

Meanwhile, spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen, Brigadier-General Turki Al-Malki, said that the attack had been carried out by "Iran-backed Houthi militia."
