easyJet reducing cabin luggage allowance

Tuesday, 01. December 2020 14:26

EasyJet plc announced on Tuesday that it is cutting its onboard luggage allowance for passengers paying cheaper fares.

Under the new rules, easyJet customers will be restricted to bags that fit under the seat unless they pay extra for a front seat or extra legroom. In the press release, the lowcost airline claimed that the changes would "improve boarding and punctuality for everyone."

EasyJet, like other airlines, has been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. In the third quarter of the current year, the company reported an annual revenue drop of 53%.
