Airline shares up on hopes of England reopening

Shares of airlines were on the rise on Tuesday after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed optimism that England could lift most coronavirus restrictions on June 21. EasyJet plc reported a surge in bookings to destinations such as Spain and Greece as Johnson also indicated international travel could be allowed starting from May 17. The airline stated flight bookings from the UK jumped 337% compared to the previous week.

EasyJet jumped by 7.91% at 2:36 pm CET. Meanwhile, Lufthansa gained 3.59% at 2:53 pm CET, Ryanair increased by 2.83% at 2:39 pm CET, while Air France added 5.04% at 2:40 pm CET.
