Major European stock markets closed with strong gains on Friday after a volatile trading week. Investors continued to monitor the situation in Ukraine and digested the better-than-expected industrial production report from the Eurozone.

The FTSE 100 jumped 2.55% with Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust surging 7.33%.

The DAX climbed 2.10%. The best performer was HelloFresh, whose shares soared 9.27%.

The CAC 40 rallied 2.52%. STMicroelectronics led the gains, soaring 5.99%.

The euro rose 0.34% against the dollar to go for 1.04139 at 5:33 pm CET and the pound added 0.29% compared to the US currency to sell for 1.22350 at 5:34 pm CET.
