Europe closes mostly lower after oil flow stops | ![]() |

Stock exchanges in Europe were mostly lower at the end of the session of Tuesday after the flow of Russian oil from Ukraine to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia has been stopped earlier in the day over sanctions against Moscow. Elsewhere, Rishi Sunak, one of two candidates for the post of United Kingdom prime minister, spoke about potential energy prices issues his country could face. The DAX lost 1.12% at the close as HelloFresh dropped 7.19%. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.08% at the end of trading with its best performer HSBC up 1.61%. The CAC 40 in Paris closed 0.53% lower with STMicroelectronics falling 5.13%. The euro was 0.26% higher than the US dollar at 5:29 pm CET, trading at 1.02233. The pound was flat compared to the American currency, going for 1.2086 a minute later. |
