European stocks fall in premarket trade

European markets fell on Tuesday during the premarket trading after European economic commissioner Pierre Moscovici's remarks on the French and Italian 2019 budget deficit targets. Moscovici stated France will be the only European country to exceed the 3% budget deficit limit. He also pointed out that he is hopeful Brussels will not open a disciplinary procedure against Italy.

The FTSE 100 was 0.35% lower, while the DAX was down 0.29% in the premarket trading. Meanwhile, the CAC 40 fell 0.43% lower before the opening bell. The Eurostoxx 50 was down 0.36%.

The euro was flat against the dollar, selling for 1.1348 at 8:52 am CET.
