Roche's sales up 1% to 14.3B Swiss francs in Q4

Roche announced on Thursday that its sales climbed to 14.34 billion Swiss francs in the final quarter of 2020, rising 1% compared to the same period a year earlier.

In the full-year 2020, the firm's IFRS sales came in at 58.32 billion Swiss francs while the operating profit amounted to 21.54 billion Swiss francs. Net income was reported at 17.38 billion Swiss francs, after having gained 23.2% on an annual basis. Roche's diluted earnings per share were 19.16 Swiss francs in 2020.

We developed in record time a comprehensive portfolio of diagnostic solutions and entered new partnerships to develop and produce effective COVID-19 medicines. The demand for our new medicines which benefit people living with serious conditions, such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, haemophilia and spinal muscular atrophy, remains high. Based on our rejuvenated portfolio and the significant progress made in developing our product pipeline, Roche is strongly positioned for future growth," CEO Severin Schwan commented.
