Wall Street closes lower on tech selloff

Major United States stock markets closed the first session of the week on Monday with losses as investors continued to drop tech shares. Tesla, a big holder of Bitcoin cryptocurrency, declined after Bitcoin had a major drop over the weekend and sold for as low as $54,293 at its lowest point on Monday. Coinbase, another body dependent on crypto trading, also had a drastic fall after going public last week, closing at $332 per share, down 15% from the price it started its trading on the first day.

Dow Jones closed with 0.36% in the red as Intel lost 1.73%, while S&P 500 slid 0.53% led by Penn National Gaming dropping by 6.94%. The Nasdaq 100 fell by 0.96% with Peloton plummeting 7.28%.

The euro gained 0.45% against the dollar exchanging hands for $1.20362 at 4:09 pm ET.
