UK does not recognize EU's Brexit bill - Johnson

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stressed on Friday the United Kingdom does not recognize the European Union's estimate of the cost London has to pay for leaving the bloc.

"We don't recognize that figure," Johnson stated. "It's an estimate produced by the EU for its own internal accounting purposes. For example, it doesn't reflect all the money owed back to the UK, which reduces the amount we pay."

Earlier in the day, it was reported Brussels and London were in a new dispute over the cost of Brexit, with the EU claiming the UK should pay €47.5 billion, or £40.8 billion.
