J&J COVID booster jab raises antibodies 12-fold - study

Johnson & Jonhson announced on Tuesday that antibody levels against coronavirus increase by up to 12 times if a booster shot of its vaccine is administered six months after the initial vaccination.

According to real-world evidence and a phase 3 study, the pharmaceutical company said that the vaccine is 79% effective against COVID infections and 81% effective against hospitalizations. Notably, over the course of the study, the effectiveness of the vaccine remained the same.

On booster shots, the study found that the booster jab is 94% effective against symptomatic infections of coronavirus when administered two months after the first dose. Lastly, the company asserted that the booster shot provides 100% protection against severe or critical COVID cases.
