Director of the United States Centers for Disease Control, Rochelle Walensky, said on Friday the agency will evaluate data on booster shots for recipients of vaccines developed by Moderna and Johnson & Johnson in the coming weeks, before making a final decision about the matter.

The White House Covid-19 response team acknowledged that more than 20 million Americans are from today eligible to request a booster COVID-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech - namely those older than 65, people with compromised immune systems as well as citizens who have a high risk of catching the disease.
