The United States Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee unanimously recommended to those that received Johnson and Johnson's (J&J) single-shot vaccine against COVID-19 to get the booster dose produced by the same company, the agency announced on Friday.

The FDA's panel of experts added the authorities should consider giving the original shot and the booster one as a two-dose vaccine. The group added the booster shot should be given at least two months after the first one.

J&J applied for the approval of its booster shot earlier this month.
