The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended on Wednesday the booster dose of Johnson & Johnson's (J&J) vaccine against COVID-19 for use in people aged 18 and above.

The agency's human medicines committee (CHMP) concluded that the booster can be considered for receiving it at least two months after one got the first shot of J&J, Moderna Inc., and Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE's treatments.

Johnson & Johnson's booster dose previously received approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
