Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (JAL) and All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) announced on Wednesday they are resuming their flights to the United States after temporarily canceling them amid the deployment of the fifth-generation (5G) system around the North American country's airports.

The companies said they received an assurance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that the implementation of the wireless technology no longer poses a security risk.

Earlier this week, Japan temporarily halted flights to the US amid concerns the installation process of 5G could be dangerous to airlines' operations.
