US opens higher as Ukraine talks resume

Major stock markets in the United States opened in green territory on Tuesday as the Russia-Ukraine negotiations on ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops were renewed and after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it is very unlikely the country will be joining the NATO alliance.

On the economic front, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the United States increased by 0.8% in February, while the price of oil sharply declined by 7% amid the ongoing negotiations.

The Dow Jones rose 0.71% or 241 points at 9:30 am ET, with Boeing Co's 2.44% advance, while the Nasdaq 100 climbed 1.00%, led by Pinduoduo's 3.67% jump. Furthermore, the S&P 500 increased 0.75%, with its top performer, United Airlines Holdings, surging 8.42%. The euro rose 0.39% against the dollar at 9:29 am ET, selling for $1.09834.
