US opens higher amid Fed's remarks

Major stock indexes in the United States opened mixed on Friday, as the investors digest the latest remarks by the United States Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell regarding the CBDC's role in helping the dollar's international standing. Additionally, the Fed's monetary policy statement is due to be revealed later during the day.

On the data side, the US industrial production increased in comparison to the previous month, while the Baker Hughes Rig Counts report will be published this afternoon.

The Dow Jones declined by 0.10% at 9:30 am ET as Visa Inc. lost 0.51%, while the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.60%, led by JD.Com's 6.50% jump. At the same time, the S&P 500 added 0.35% with Etsy Inc. pulling the index up by 4.99%.

The euro traded 0.65% lower against the dollar, selling for 1.04802 at 9:34 am ET.
