Washington has bought an advanced missile defense system for Ukraine, CNN reported, citing an anonymous source briefed on the issue.

The US reportedly plans to announce soon that it has purchased NASAMS, the medium to long-range surface-to-air missile defense system developed by Norway's Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) and US-based Raytheon Technologies.

More "artillery ammunition and counter-battery radars" will also be parts of the upcoming weapons package from the US to Ukraine, according to the insider.
