Delta Air Lines Inc. revealed on Monday that it ordered 100 airplanes from The Boeing Company's 737 MAX class.

The 737-10 aircraft delivery will begin in 2025, the airline specified and noted that the new jets "will be 20%-30% more fuel efficient" compared to the planes they will be replacing in Delta's fleet.

"These new aircraft provide superior operating economics and network flexibility, and the agreement reflects our prudent approach to deploying our capital," Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement.
