Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will represent the country at the United Nations General Assembly that is scheduled for September, as ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted that Putin has no intention to participate in the global meeting.

The main part of the UN meeting will be held in New York from September 20-26, and Lavrov is scheduled to address the assembly on September 24.

Previously, Lavrov complained to the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that the United States, as a host nation, is not doing its job and urged him to "make the US behave," as Russia cannot be unrepresented at the meeting.
