Costco Wholesale Corp. revealed on Thursday that its revenue in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022 surged 15% year over year, to reach $72.1 billion, going over analysts' expectations.

Meanwhile, the company's net sales in the fourth trimester stood at $70.8 billion, soaring 15.2% from the same period a year earlier. In addition, diluted earnings per share (EPS) landed at $4.20, up from $3.76 recorded in the same quarter in 2021, while net income came in at $1.9 billion, rising 11.7% on an annual basis.

Comparable sales in the forth quarter increased 13.7%, with e-commerce sales growing 7.1%. Costco's stock tumbled 1.78% in after-hours trading even though the results were better than expected.
