Physical damage of gas pipeline led to pressure drop - Nord Stream

Nord Stream AG noted on Tuesday that it is not possible to estimate the timeframe for restoring gas transport infrastructure after the pipeline in the Baltic Sea suffered physical damage leading to a "significant pressure drop caused by the gas leak on both lines of the gas pipeline."

"The locations of the two assumed damages have been identified and are located northeast of Bornholm Island in the Swedish and Danish Exclusive Economic Zones ( EEZ) respectively," the statement read.

Previously, the Danish and Swedish authorities underscored that the gas leak happened as a result of "deliberate actions," stressing that detected explosions were "not on accident." The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland recorded tremors in the Baltic Sea the day before, explaining that such blasts do not resemble signals from earthquakes.
