US crude inventories down by 1.4 million barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, which are not taking into account those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, were down by 01.4 million barrels to 429.2 million barrels in the week ending September 30, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed in its report published on Wednesday.

US crude oil refinery inputs totaled 16 million barrels per day, which is 210,000 barrels per day, higher than the average recorded the prior week. Refineries operated at 91.3% of their capacity, while gasoline production rose, averaging 10 million daily barrels.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 5.9 million barrels per day, declining by 0.5 million barrels per day compared to the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories slumped by 10 million barrels from last week.
