Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) informed on Wednesday that two Chinese and six Russian war aircraft crossed South Korea's air defense identification zone (KADIZ) without notice.

However, the JCS later confirmed that the warplanes did not violate South Korea's territorial air. According to observers cited by Yonhap News, it appears that China and Russia conducted combined air drills.

Earlier this month, Seoul and Washington held joint military drills after North Korea's ICBM launch that fueled tensions on the Peninsula as the United States and South Korea look to strengthen their alliance.
