European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday that the European Union will work to set up a specialized court backed by the United Nations to investigate and prosecute Russian war crimes. She added the EU will strive to "get the broadest international support" for the effort and find the legal path needed for such an endeavor.

Von der Leyen also discussed the possibility of managing and investing funds seized from Russia and using the proceeds to rebuild Ukraine. She said the EU has so far blocked €300 billion of the Russian Central Bank's reserves and frozen €19 billion of Russian oligarchs’ money.
